Giveaway- My memory suite software

MyMemories has willingly offered to give one of my readers their own MyMemories Suite Digital Scrapbook Software! To see how cool this product is watch the video below!

See how easy it is to use and how quickly you can put that needed scrapbook together? Who has time to print out all their pictures anymore? Their Website also has more pages for sell than just the ones the program has to offer. Their priced between $10.00 and free! So you can decide how much you want to spend .
My Calendar:

calendar-002 calendar-003

calendar-004 calendar-005

All of these papers I got for free. I have yet to spend any money on Mymemories. (We are poor grad students) I must say I have been SO tempted to get some of the cute pages but sometime in the future I’m sure I’ll be buying up the whole store!

The only thing that I don't like about the mymemories is the downloading process. I own a silhouette and it has spoiled me. It does all the downloading automatically for me. I just have to say yes. With mymemories program you choose what you want and then you have to choose which download, PC or MAC and then apply it to the software!urg! and the list of papers you buy don't ever leave the download page so it can be hard to know which ones you have already download from buy to buy. (Warning: this might not be making sense!) Other than that it's good after you play around with the program for a few days.
Not only do we have the giveaway but also for those of you who don't win or can't wait to get your own Software can use this code: STMMMS70034  and get the MyMemories suite software for only $30 instead of 40 and also gets $10 of free product as well! Savings of $20!

Snowmen and ornaments

Last year I made these cute little snowmen with my sister and mother as well as some ornaments. The snowmen are so fun and easy to make. It’s a great way to use up old clothes and scraps.  All that is needed is the following:

Old socks (I don’t recommend socks with holes :) )

Beans or rice to fill them with

Buttons, ribbon, twine decorative socks , and or fabric to decorate the snowmen with.

Glue gun

Start by filling your main sock with the rice or beans. We used rice. We had to stretch out the socks a bit. So they would be big enough. I used my husbands socks that had lost the other pair. Some of them had holes in the toes, so I cut off the toe and tied it.Having the tied portion on the inside of the sock for the bottom. (the knot is inside the sock.) Then you tie up the top. We used sleeves of old shirts and decorative socks to make our snowmen clothes with. They were the perfect size and already the right shape! My favorite one I made was this one with the sweater sleeve. Add twine, ribbon and or buttons to embellish these little guys to cuteness. We used orange felt for the nose.

Here is what is looks finished and the other snowman I made.

All of our snowmen together. All of them were made with shirts except the stripe ones those were socks.

My sister had just gotten married that summer so she had no ornament and no tree at the time that I decided to have this craft day for her. My sister doesn’t do crafts. She also had no money to go to ornaments. She wanted something to decorate with so I was on the job to find ornaments that were easy to make and also cute.

ornaments

Look at all that scrapbook paper we went through! Thanks to Julia who gave me a good amount of scrapbook paper when she moved to Colorado. See I really do use it and for others too.  :)

ornaments3 This one was going to be the top of her tree. She had a painted tree in one of the rooms in her apartment. She ended up getting my grandmothers tree so instead she used it as a wall decoration. She put it up again this year.

ornaments5

The ornaments were so simple. The one above you just cut circles the same size fold them in half and stick them together with ribbon or string in the middle. The ones below you cut paper into strips 3 different sizes. We cut our  scrapbook paper into 1 inch width, and then I think the lengths we did were 6 inches for the center, 8 inches and 10  inches. and yes both of these were seen again in her apartment again this year.ornaments4

My sister and mother aren’t crafty people. Here is my sister getting frustrated with the papers not gluing and staying together….poor thing. :)  Don’t worry I came to her rescue after taking a picture…

I wanted to quickly write about what we did for Halloween. I wanted to show off some of the decorations I have and the costumes I made this year. I just finished sewing them! At least I finished them with one day to spare! Thank goodness!

My piano decorations:

Egg Olympics

Have all of you been glued to the Olympics as I have? It will be sad and good when it goes. I will be able to focus on other things! It has been fun to watch the kids reaction to the games. They are almost always running around and trying to do what they see. The other day they ran over to the wall and put their feet on the wall and started running from wall to wall in their ‘race’.Then they stood on the big chair and jumped off backwards saying they are jumping into the water. They can always think of something!

With the Olympics coming to an end I was trying to think of some kind of fun that we could actively do to celebrate, like a closing ceremony. I automatically thought of the annual tradition we do with Easter and knew it could be adjusted to this awesome event! The tradition? Egg Olympics.

egg olympics-001

Every Easter my husbands’ family has an egg olympics event with all the hardboiled eggs we bring. It is a blast. I decided to introduce my family to it and now have done it the last 2 years. I made a score chart to keep track of who played. We gave the eggs out like crazy. Anyone who did it and worked hard at the events got one. Now onto the events!

IMG_1081

Egg Race:

Put eggs on the starting line. Everyone pushes the eggs to the finish line with their noses! Great fun to watch!

IMG_0547

Egg Toss:

A classic egg game. Toss to your partner. If egg survives take 1 step back and continue. If egg drops but doesn’t break continue to toss until it does! Our finalist tossed it the entire length of the yard corner to corner. Not bad.

IMG_0550

Egg Relay:

Divide into 2 teams. We had 4 on each

IMG_0552

Then equipped with spoons take the eggs back and forth. First team back to the beginning wins!

IMG_0554

Egg Wrestling:

Place wrists together count one… two…. and on three…. collide the two eggs, whichever egg doesn’t break continues on. Both break? Tie, both out.

IMG_0556 IMG_0557

Egg Shot Put:

Stand in line. Throw the egg like a shot put. We took the circle stepping out to make it safer. (They were all aiming for me)

IMG_0558

All got into the games, young and old!

IMG_0559

As I’m sure you noticed a lot of eggs get crushed! Some beyond recognition. Know all eggs will not be edible after. Be prepared to make some egg salad sandwiches for Lunch after. :)

There are 2 more events that we have done but I don’t have any pictures of them. There is the egg dive and a different version of the shot put. I will try and explain them well.

Egg Dive:

Have ice cream bucket full of water. Toss your egg underhand which makes the egg twirl in the air and try to get it to land in the bucket with no cracks. This event is my best and also the one that makes you go through the most eggs.

Egg Shot Put:

I changed this one cuz I think it’s just gross but some of you with teenage boys just may love it! My husband does.

Place egg in mouth and shoot it out as far as you can with air and tongue. The farthest “throw”er wins.

So there you go everything you need to go do your own Olympics. You could even add your own medals like these. What are you waiting for get to it!
